A benchmark golf course in Europe
Surtec was responsible for the direction and agronomic coordination of the work carried out by the Contractor, guaranteeing strict compliance with the specifications of the Designer and the Property.
This course, along with Course IV, represents an ambitious expansion that Real Club de Golf La Moraleja undertook between 2010 and 2013 to enhance its initial two courses, establishing La Moraleja as Europe’s most prominent urban golf club and a key reference on the continent.
This Jack Nicklaus Signature course is a benchmark in Europe for both construction quality and maintenance standards. The project involved 300,000 cubic meters of earthworks, a 20 cm layer of silica sand across the entire course, USGA greens, 69 bunkers using the sandtrapper system, 2,000 individually controlled sprinklers, and the planting of 1,200 specimens.
The tees and fairways were established with Bentgrass var. PLS, roughs with Bluegrass/ Ryegrass blend, and the putting surfaces TeeOne bentgrass.
Surtec Golf Agronomy was appointed to manage the contractor’s agronomy operations, ensuring strict adherence to the Designer’s construction specifications.
