During the final weeks of 2.020 and the beginning of 2.021, we have worked as irrigation consultants for one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Spain, La Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo. The aim of the job has been to completely update its irrigation central control system to optimally manage its complex irrigation system that supplies 36 holes, practice areas, croquet, and a 3-par course, through 3 pumping stations.

After a preliminary phase collecting data gathered by the Club’s irrigation technicians, we have carried out an intense and meticulous work to update the architecture of the entire network of general pipes, connections, secondary pipes, electrovalves and the sprinkler database of the irrigation control software. During this stage of the works, a fluent communication between the club and the irrigation consultant is vital due to the huge amount of data and information that is exchanged (more than 4.000 sprinklers and more than 800 flow zones). After the completion of this phase, we would like to congratulate the Club’s technicians for their good work.

The final objective: that the flow management by the central computer is carried out according to the reality of the existing installation, in a balanced way and avoiding peaks of sudden drop or rise in pressure. This intervention will bring positive and short-term results in the pumping stations, the daily management of the Greenkeeping team, while substantially improving the uniformity irrigation of the golf course.
